5 Books That Help Me Get My Shit Together

If you're on a journey of life evolution and transcendence, the universe will shift and bend you in many ways and at different points in your life. Through this bending, life will turn and flip you and it can even be all around painful. These are the symptoms of evolution.

Some growth in life may come easy but when we are experiencing a major upgrade, there's nothing really pretty about it until we make it through. Recently, I've been experiencing a personal upgrade in my life. I’ve been faced with controversy with the people close to me, revelation after revelation, and even triggering events that led me down a dark hole of self-reflection. These events remind me of times when I was deeply depressed and I assumed that this time was just another case. However, I forgot that these times of depression spark the greatest evolution. It’s during these times that the universe will work double-time to help us through and evolve. It may send us complications and obstacles, but it will also send the answers through them if you really pay attention.

In my latest transcendence, I took signs from the universe by some titles that popped up in my life. They were unique and new, so I knew it was something I needed to indulge in. They came in the form of books. Being an artist who creates her own life, I look for many ways to stimulate my mind. I’m such an overly deep thinker that mental stimulation is something I realized I needed. Here is a list of books that helped me climb out of my dark hole, that helped shift and stimulate my mind, and helped me get and keep my shit together.

Book #1: “The Interview with the Devil" | Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill

This book was the first I came across. It blew my mind with a revelation about how much of my mental chaos is created by my negative thinking. Negative thinking was a major issue for me when I began my spiritual journey. And it was sparked when I realized how much I did it and how I could shift my perspectives of everything. Every so often I need to be reminded and this was one of those times. The e-book is available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/WbWI6Wj9xDI

Book #2: The Art of Communicating by Thich Nhat Hahn

This book is pretty self-explanatory. It sparked in my mind ways to communicate authentically and compassionately and how my ways and lack of communicating played a major role in how I viewed my relationships.
